In Between Dreams

Nagulat ako when I saw this album cover while listening to Jack Johnson. I swear…ngayon ko lang nakita to! And I doubt if Patrick saw this one…sakto sa design namin diba and the color! Plus may guitar pa… And what song was playing, “Better Together”…that one song I really want to include in our wedding AVP. Sheeesh…nanlaki talaga mata ko…hmmm..serendipity? :p

And the title…ah, the title…I just had a very bad dream last night about the wedding…migulay talaga…hekhekhek..

Apartment Hunting

Saturday, December 15th, 2007

Josh and I finally found our apartment! Special thanks to that one trike driver that helped me with my quest. We decided we’d find our own place instead so we can learn how to be independent. We already paid for it and we’ll pay the next half once we finally move in.

It’s a 1 Bedroom apartment on the 4th floor. We have not decided though if we’ll get a parking slot because Josh doesn’t want to bring his car. Pffft.

License to Wed

Manila Wedding

I just got back from a looong morning with my fiancee and our parents. We were scheduled to attend a pre-marriage counseling seminar and we did…finally. The marriage license was actually ready to be released a couple of weeks ago but Josh still couldn’t take a leave from work. Fortunately, his new boss allowed him to do so this week.

We went to the local DSWD office before 8 o’clock but as expected, the session didn’t start after 2 hours. Two hours of waiting imagine! But whatdaheck, I wasn’t in the mood to complain then.

So off to the seminar. I was sleepy because I only had 3 hours of sleep as usual. I was working ’til the wee hours of the morning because I need to finish lots of things both for work and the wedding. Wedding preps can be too…too…I don’t know how to put it. Perhaps this is what they call ‘wedding jitters’.

Anyway, the seminar ran for only 2 hours when we were expecting it would last until noon. What we thought would be a simple talk on love and marriage, actually made me rethink about getting married. We were given a glimpse of what could happen. I never expected that married life will be a bed of roses but I was reminded this morning that I won’t be single anymore. That means I’d have to get up earlier to prepare my husband’s breakfast, clothes, etc. More bills to pay..more responsibilities…perhaps more misunderstandings. And definitely more adjustments.

Seriously, I wanted to tell Josh that I’m having second thoughts. No, not about him as my partner in life but on marrying at this day and age. There are times I’d wish we could have waited more ,saved some more money, traveled more, climbed higher the corporate ladder, bought a house and a car, among others.

But when I begin to have these thoughts, I am always reminded of why we’re doing this. Why we’re marrying is because we know we can be better together and we can help each other fulfill God’s purposes. We decided to be united in marriage not because we want to secure each other but because we know deep in our hearts that this is the will of God.
